Florida's Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia visited Orlando Friday afternoon to reveal the results of his audit of the City's budget as part of the DeSantis administration's push to eliminate homestead property taxes.
The findings from his “FAFO audit” in the City Beautiful are proof that his hunt for excessive spending by local governments is not partisan politics, Ingoglia said.
"If it's yielding disaster results for those and halfway decent results for the city of Orlando. Well, guess what? I think our calculations are pretty spot on,” he said.
Ingoglia said his calculations take into account inflation and population growth as he examines how city and county budgets have grown over the past five years.
