MULLINS, S.C. (WBTW) -- Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting last month outside the Imperial Motel in Mullins, police said.

Tyzon Mercer, 23, and De'Maurii Platt, 24, both of Mullins, face multiple charges in the Oct. 27 shooting that left one person with a "major injury," according to a police report. The wounded person was taken to the hospital, but no information about their condition was immediately available.

Officers responded to the motel at about 3 a.m. after receiving calls about multiple shots being fired in the area. When they arrived, the police report said officers saw a trail of blood coming from a grassy area into the parking lot of the motel, which is located in the 1300 block of N. Main Street.
