On the first day that airlines started to trim flights in accordance with a federal directive to reduce air traffic during the government shutdown, the Indianapolis International Airport on Nov. 7 bore few signs that anything was out of the ordinary.The departure and arrival boards showed a handful of canceled flights , but travelers remained upbeat and determined, even as travel plans remained up in the air.
