MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two men are facing charges following an investigation into armed robberies in Meriden, according to police.
Police said nine armed robberies that happened between September and November are believed to have been committed by two men, but no charges have been filed on the other robbies yet.
Out of the nine robberies, five of them involved a suspect with what appeared to be a firearm.
Following an multiagency investigation and surveillance, authorities arrested Corey Alexis, 41, at a convenience store, police said. Officers alleged he was prepared to commit an armed robbery.
According to police, Alexis had a BB gun. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit robbery in the first degree and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was held on a $1 million bond.
