Seek time-bound action on key community issues

Bengaluru: A group of Muslim representatives from across Karnataka have submitted a comprehensive petition to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, highlighting what they described as “priority issues and legitimate concerns” of the state’s Muslim community between 2023 and 2025.

Addressed jointly to the two top leaders, the petition titled “Submission of Petition Highlighting Priority Issues and Legitimate Concerns of the Muslim Community in Karnataka (2023–2025)” — stresses that Muslims form more than 14 percent of Karnataka’s electorate and that their expectations from the Congress government stem from “constitutional guarantees and equitable participation” rather than political favour.
