SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Air travelers are uneasy this week amid the growing potential for flight disruptions at San Diego International Airport (SAN). This follows an unprecedented order from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to reduce flights up to 10% at 40 major airports due to staffing pressures during the ongoing government shutdown.

SAN officials are urging patience from travelers as the situation evolves. Passengers are strongly encouraged to check their flight status before coming to the airport, and plan to arrive no less than two hours before their flight.
