AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - State Representative John Smithee announced Friday he will not seek reelection in the Texas House of Representatives.

Smithee has served in the Texas Legislature since 1985.

He represents the 86th District, which includes the following counties:

Armstrong

Dallam

Deaf Smith

Hartley

Oldham

Parmer

Randall
