PHOENIX — Two people were seriously injured, including a suspect, after a shooting in the West Valley on Friday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The shooting began at 10:46 a.m. at a residence near 2500 South 99th Avenue.

When officers got on scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Initial information from police indicates that the suspect reportedly shot himself before driving away from the area. Police said they contacted the suspect in the area of 99th Avenue and Van Buren Street after the incident.

The suspect was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
