Jay Timmons , the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons , has flipped his commitment from Florida State to Ohio State, he announced.
A legacy recruit for the Seminoles, he never formally recommitted before flipping on Thursday. The elder Timmons played his college football at Florida State.
Timmons has become a star at Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. He is one of the top rated cornerback prospects in the country in the 2026 recruiting class, and his flip makes it a huge coup for the Buckeyes.
He had been committed to the Seminoles since June, but took an official visit to Ohio State during their win over Penn State and committed weeks later.
