Pickaway County, OH — Pickaway County Public Health is ramping up efforts to prevent opioid overdose deaths by expanding access to free naloxone through its Overdose Response Team (PORT).
The program now includes:
Four “Barney Boxes” in high-traffic community areas.
Five stainless steel “Mental Health Boxes” designed for year-round outdoor access.
Each box is stocked with naloxone (Narcan) and educational materials. Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose in minutes, is safe, easy to use, and completely free.
Tiffany Singer, PORT Coordinator, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “Because every life in Pickaway County matters, we want naloxone to be readily available wherever it’s needed.”
Residents in need of Narcan can visit any of the free boxes or stop by Pickaway Count
