Out of playoff contention with a pile of injuries, it would be easy for the Weber State football team to carry dread into Bobcat Stadium.

But that’s not how the Wildcats feel as they prepare to face Montana State at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Weber head coach Mickey Mental.

“This is why you play college football, in my opinion. You play for these opportunities, these environments at a Montana State, at a Montana,” Mental told 406 MT Sports on Thursday, adding, “It’s the next-guy-up mentality. ‘Now you have an opportunity to play in a big-time atmosphere. What are you going to do with your opportunity?’ Just play clean, physical, hard-nosed football and let the chips sort themselves out.”
