GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Deputies with the Greenville County sheriff’s office say they arrested a man in connection with a dog-fighting operation.

The investigation started on October 9 when the sheriff’s office says it received a complaint about possible dog fighting and animal cruelty.

Investigators then conducted a search at a property along S. Artillery Ave. where several dogs were being kept, according to a release sent out by the sheriff’s office.

There, deputies say they seized four American pit bull terriers. Two of the dogs showed obvious signs of injury consistent with dog fighting, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

The dogs were taken off the property to be cared for by animal control, according to the release.
