NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A man was arrested after making threats and then barricading himself inside a New Braunfels home for several hours Friday morning, according to a press release.
Mark Joseph Freaney, 33, is being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, which is a 2nd degree felony.
New Braunfels police were called to the 800 block of Porter Street around 8:30 a.m. for reports of an armed man making threats.
Upon arrival, officers tried to communicate with Freaney before he went inside the home and refused to cooperate with law enforcement, officials said.
According to the press release, authorities determined a criminal offense had taken place and obtained arrest warrants. They also discovered no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident.
