SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A Sumter woman was arrested after police say an argument led to a shooting on Thursday.

The Sumter Police Department said 22-year-old Ealicia Samarae Davis is charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with a shooting at an apartment on Coachman Drive.

Police said officers found the shooting victim, 25-year-old Akinyele Rhakem Johnson, injured at the scene. Officials said Johnson was provided care before being taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Davis was taken into custody at the scene. Sumter police said an initial investigation found that the shooting stemmed from an argument that turned physical.

Officials also said a child who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting has been placed with family members.
