Suburban students were injured when multiple school buses crashed in Hyde Park on Chicago's South Side Friday.

The school buses collided near the intersection of Midway Plaisance and Dorchester Avenue in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago Friday morning.

Students from Orland School District 135 were minorly injured in the crash, said Allison Kaleta, a representative of the district. The injured students are being treated, she added, and others returned safely to school.

"We know this news can be concerning for families, and we want to assure our community that all students are receiving the care and attention they need," Kaleta said. "Our staff and first responders responded quickly and with great care, and we are deeply grateful for their support."
