TORONTO — Justin Bieber's seventh studio album, "Swag," has positioned him as a leading contender among Canadian artists for the upcoming Grammy Awards. The pop star from Stratford, Ontario, received four nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. This marks his first project since parting ways with longtime manager Scooter Braun.
Two tracks from "Swag" also garnered nominations. The song "Daisies" is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance, while "Yukon" is in the running for Best R&B Performance.
Bieber is not alone in the spotlight. Other Canadian artists have also received nominations. The Toronto duo PartyNextDoor and Drake earned a nod for Best Melodic Rap Performance for their collaboration, "Somebody Loves Me," from the album "Some Sexy Songs 4 U." Additionally, Calgary's Tate McRae is nominated for Best Dance Pop Recording for her song "Just Keep Watching," featured in the Brad Pitt racing film "F1."
Halifax producer Henry Walter, known as Cirkut, is another standout with seven nominations across various categories. He is competing for Non-Classical Producer of the Year and is also nominated for Album of the Year for his work on Lady Gaga's "Mayhem." Cirkut received additional nominations for Song of the Year and Record of the Year for his contributions to Gaga's "Abracadabra" and "Apt." by Rosé and Bruno Mars.
Serban Ghenea, another prominent Canadian producer, is recognized in the Record of the Year category for his work on Sabrina Carpenter's "Manchild," as well as Gaga's "Abracadabra" and "Apt." He is also nominated for Album of the Year for both "Man's Best Friend" and "Mayhem," and is in the running for Best Dance Pop Recording for mixing Gaga's "Abracadabra."
Kendrick Lamar leads the overall nominations with nine for his album "GNX," which is part of a strong showing for hip-hop at the Grammys. Other notable nominees include Tyler, the Creator for "Chromakopia" and Clipse's "Let God Sort Em Out."
The 68th Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, and will be broadcast on Citytv and CBS. The full list of nominees includes a diverse range of artists and genres, showcasing the breadth of talent in the music industry today.
