LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - The Longmeadow Police Department is conducting undercover compliance checks at local businesses to ensure proper ID verification and prevent underage drinking.
The police posted on social media on Friday, stating that over the next few days/weeks, officers will be undercover in businesses and restaurants to ensure they are verifying identification before alcohol is sold or served to those 21 years or older.
These checks aim to prevent underage drinking, which is both illegal and poses significant risks to minors. Underage drinking increases the risk of serious injury, impaired driving, and long-term health impacts.
