LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

UPS has been hit with its first lawsuit in the wake of the deadly UPS plane crash that left 13 dead and others injured.

The class action lawsuit was filed by Morgan & Morgan on behalf of individuals and businesses affected by the crash and subsequent explosion. Advertisement

Plaintiffs include Shakeara Ware, a resident who lives near the crash site, and two Kentucky businesses: Triple D, Inc. (Kentucky Corporation) and ENSEY LLC (Kentucky Limited Liability Company).

The suit names UPS, GE and Boeing as defendants.

The crash, which happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, caused a massive fire, with giant plumes of smoke spanning a half-mile around the airport. The MD-11 cargo plane crashed during takeoff at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
