SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) - The Sheboygan Police Department are saying that rumors circulating online about Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducting raids in the area are not true.
According to a Facebook post from the department, officers assisted the U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Wisconsin Violent Fugitive Taskforce on Wednesday morning in locating and arresting a man from Illinois who was wanted on a federal criminal warrant for the delivery of fentanyl.
Police say only one arrest was made during the operation. Officials noted that they are aware of social media claims suggesting multiple arrests or immigration enforcement activity in the area.
No further details about the suspect were released.
