The Kansas Department for Children and Families announced that families who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will receive their full benefits Friday.

SNAP benefits were stalled as a result of the enduring government shutdown, which is now the longest in U.S. history.

Despite ongoing uncertainty about funding, DCF says Kansans who use SNAP should have access to their full benefits by the end of the day as opposed to the typical monthly issuances over a 10-day period.

DCF says the total benefit distribution was more than $31.6 million to approximately 86,000 households.
