LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A lawsuit has been filed against UPS, General Electric and Boeing after one of UPS's cargo planes crashed near the Louisville international airport on Tuesday, killing at least 13 people.
The class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of people and businesses affected by the crash and the explosion that followed.
The lawsuit claims the plaintiffs, Shakeara Ware, Triple D, Inc., and Ensey LLC, along with many other class members, had their lives and businesses "turned upside down" as a result of the plane crash.
Ware was at home nearby as the crash and explosion of the UPS jet shook her home, toxic smoke and soot filled her lungs, according to the lawsuit. After she was released from shelter in-place orders, she went to the emergency room for treatment of her injuries.
