DENVER (KDVR) -- A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run in Arvada early Thursday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., the Arvada Police Department said it responded to the 6800 block of Sheridan Boulevard after reports of a "man down in the southbound lanes."
Drivers who were not involved in the crash stopped and provided CPR until crews with Arvada Fire Protection District arrived and took over.
A spokesperson for the department told FOX31 that those efforts were not successful and the pedestrian, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was hit by a vehicle that left the scene, and the department said that vehicle has yet to be identified and detectives do not have a description of it.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police ask anyone who may have information about the crash
