Susan (name changed to protect privacy) doesn't know what her kids are mixed up in, but she says it is clear a gang is out to get them.

Not even the family home feels safe.

She says there have been four attempted home invasions at her house in Melton on Melbourne's western outskirts.

During one incident in 2024, the South Sudanese-Australian woman says she and her daughter fought assailants off at the front door in the early hours of the morning as they tried to get inside.

Earlier this year, while the family was sleeping, 11 people carrying machetes and metal bars broke through windows and doors at the property.

Susan and her children managed to run next door to safety before the group got inside and smashed up their house — an account that has been confirmed by police.
