Jammu, Nov 7: Crime Branch (Economic Offences Wing) Jammu arrested an accused absconding in a case of cheating for the last three months and produced him before the court of Sub Judge, Poonch on Friday.

The absconder Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, resident of Chadoora, Budgam involved in case FIR No 110/2023 U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC, has been remanded to judicial custody.

According to a spokesperson of Crime Branch, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu, in 2023, an FIR was registered on the written complaint received from one Javaid Iqbal of Poonch.

A charge sheet was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Poonch against the accused on October 28, 2025. He cheated the complainant for an amount of Rs 4,20,000 on the pretext of providing a government job as Panc
