Plan will now go to city council for final approval

The Peoria Planning Commission unanimously approved a controversial 302-unit multi-family complex Nov. 6 on 17 acres near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Pinnacle Vista Drive.

Much of the community surrounding Cibola Vista has come out in opposition to the resort’s proposal saying new apartments would decrease the value of homes already owned in the area and put further strain on infrastructure with more traffic and other growth.

Nearly 1,350 signatures have been gathered opposing the project via Change.org.

Peoria City Council will have final approval at a later date.

Rents for the resort apartments are expected to range from about $2,000 to $3,000 per month, based on today’s price per square foot.
