INDIANAPOLIS - A homeowner on Indy's southside is disturbed after getting home Thursday night and finding a fire was growing near his property line.
He later learned that it started in a homeless encampment.
"Pulled into the driveway and saw this orange glow. Walked back and there seemed to be a pretty large-sized fire," said Ben Riley. "I had the hose ready to wet everything down but the fire department was here."
The Indianapolis Fire Department responded at 9:30 p.m. Thursday and said trash was set on fire inside a homeless encampment. They say no buildings were damaged.
By Friday morning, some charred brush could still be seen in the area of the encampment as well a few people.
