INDIANAPOLIS — A 17-year-old was sentenced Friday following the deadly April shooting of another teen at a gas station on the east side of Indianapolis.
On Nov. 7, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office announced Sir Braylon Howell was sentenced to serve 45 years in prison for the murder of Malachi May on April 15, 2025. Howell was charged with two counts of murder, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
As part of an October plea deal, Howell pleaded guilty to murder and had the remaining charges dropped.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. April 15 near the intersection of East 34th Street and North Emerson Avenue . IMPD Capt. Rob Rider said officers responding for an incomplete 911 call found a man who had been shot inside a truck.
