Kingston’s K-Rock 105.7 and Country 93.5 are among five other smaller markets across the country to make the move to a remote operations model, the Whig-Standard has learned.

A spokesperson with Rogers Sports and Media confirmed the news Wednesday, which means on-air talent will be set up with in-home studios, or will broadcast from an alternate location, a similar set-up many of the broadcasters experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other markets include stations in Canmore, Grand Prairie and Fort McMurray in Alberta and Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario. While those markets made the transition this week, the two Kingston stations will move out of their current building on Princess Street in January.
