ELK GROVE, Calif. —

Nine people have been arrested in connection with on-campus robberies at two high schools in the Elk Grove Unified School District, police said.

Elk Grove police said seven juveniles and two 18-year-olds were arrested Thursday in connection with the robberies.

The robbers used force during the incident at Monterey Trail High School to steal jewelry from at least one person before fleeing the campus, police said.

The suspects then forcibly stole jewelry from another victim at Laguna Creek High School a short time later, police said. Police said one of the robbers brandished a gun during that robbery.

Detectives later found a group that matched the suspects’ description in a shopping center parking lot near Cosumnes River College and detained the nine people.
