Mia Hamant has left an entire community of people and fans heartbroken over the loss of her life at the age of 21.

Hamant, a star goalkeeper for the University of Washington Huskies, was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer in April. Just the month before, her Instagram shows her posing in a pretty pink dress and enjoying life in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

She had no clue that she was on borrowed time.

After April, she wouldn’t post again until September. The star goalkeeper for the Huskies was diagnosed with stage 4 SMARCB1-deficient kidney cancer. Her diagnosis was so rare that it was only the 14th documented case of its kind.

Mia Hamant tragically died at the age of 21 this week after a seven-month battle with the rare kidney cancer, the University confirmed on Thursday.
