AUSTIN, Texas (KVUE) - A mother in Texas is speaking out after her 14-year-old son recorded a man threatening him for fishing at a neighborhood pond.
For Victoria Retana’s 14-year-old son, fishing is not just a hobby.
“He lives and breathes it. It’s everything to him. So, every day he has to get his little fix of fishing. It’s like non-negotiable,” Retana said.
And that was no different on Oct. 22. After school, Retana said her son, whose name wasn’t released, went to Sullivan Park’s pond, near Onion Creek, to fish.
While he was there, Retana’s son recorded an encounter with a man who appears to threaten the teenager.
“If I catch you out here again, I’m going to punch your lights out so hard you knock yourself out,” the man is heard saying in the video. “I’m going to drown you.”
