Little Rock could see its first sub-freezing temperatures of the season as a cold front moves through the area to start the coming week, according to the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock.

Temperatures are forecast to drop on Saturday from a high of 73 to a low around 44 that night, then plummet Sunday night. The weather service hasn’t issued a frost or freeze warning for the area, though.

The coldest air is expected to hit Sunday, with daytime highs in the mid-50s and lows around 27 and more of the same for Monday, with a high of 48 and low of 29.

By Tuesday afternoon, the Weather Service said, the initial cold blast is expected to dissipate. The forecast high is 61, with a low that night around 42 and temperatures for the rest of the coming week expected to be highs
