Hold off on rolling out the red carpet just yet, Zach Hyman isn’t quite ready to return to the Edmonton Oilers lineup.
The wrist injury he suffered in last year’s Western Conference Final continues to keep him out of action, as he entered the season on long-term injured reserve.
When that elapsed on Nov. 1, head coach Kris Knoblauch said the veteran forward was still a week away from returning.
And a week later, guess what?
“He will not play tomorrow,” said Knoblauch, whose squad hosts the first-place Colorado Avalanche (8 p.m., Sportsnet, CBC). “And whether he gets back in Monday, or later on in that road trip, we expect him within one week.”
