GREENPOINT — ONE PERSON WAS hospitalized after a first-floor fire broke out at a four-story apartment building on Huron Street near Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint early Thursday, according to News12 Brooklyn. The FDNY received the call at 6:32 a.m., dispatching about 12 units — roughly 60 firefighters and EMS personnel — who brought the blaze under control just before 7:30 a.m.

The injured resident was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. Neighbor Bret Roberson, who lives on the fourth floor, told News12, “One of my neighbors helped me get down the stairs with my cat.” The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
