New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday slammed the Congress party during the inauguration of a year-long commemoration of the national song “Vande Mataram,” marking its 150th anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion Prime Minister said that significant stanzas of the song were omitted in 1937, which he claimed contributed to the seeds of partition and reflects a continuing “divisive mindset” in the country. Modi emphasized the importance of “Vande Mataram” as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and national unity, asserting that it embodies the spirit and aspirations of every Indian. During the event, held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Modi released a commemorative stamp and coin to honor the occasion. He articulated that “Vande Mataram” remains relevant across generations
