Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng has filed a temporary protective order against a parish firefighter according to court records.

The order was filed Wednesday against East Bank Consolidated Fire Department firefighter Stephen Orkus Jr., hours after he spoke at a city council meeting over firefighter pay.

It's the latest flashpoint in the ongoing dispute between Lee Sheng's administration, the Parish Council, and the firefighters union over pay.

During the meeting, Orkus addressed Lee Sheng directly and referenced an area she frequents.

"We have our eyes and ears all over the place. We know you don’t like us. Please find a mediator,” Orkus said.

Lee Sheng immediately expressed concern, asking that his remarks be entered into the record.
