A daycare in Cold Lake has been put on probation by the province after significant safety concerns about supervision and unsafe toys and equipment was found.

Happy House Daycare (South) was given a probationary licence that will l expire on Feb. 5, the province said in a media release on Friday.

In August, child care licensing also reduced Happy House Daycare’s capacity to 286 spaces from 310 spaces.

According to the daycare’s website , the facility takes care of children from ages one to six.

As part of the probation stipulations, Happy House Daycare is required to notify all parents of children who attend the daycare of their probationary status, and need to provide evidence of their notifications to the province’s Ministry of Education and Childcare.
