LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Visitors are getting into Lake Mead for free as the federal government shutdown continues, but authorities will be out in force this weekend to make sure it's not a free-for-all on the roads.
The National Park Service, with assistance from the Bureau of Land Management, will be stepping up traffic law enforcement this weekend (Nov. 8-9) on roads at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Officials said it's an effort to reduce speeding, impaired driving and other dangerous violations.
Motorcycle safety is getting extra attention, according to a Friday news release. Officers will be watching for unsafe riding, lane-splitting violations, proper licensing and helmet compliance. Motorcyclists are reminded to ride defensively, wear appropriate safety gear and remain visible to
