JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - Officers at the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) start their shift with roll call; the one on Nov. 5 was different. It was the first time Eric Daugherty addressed the officers as their chief.
"This is day one, roll call one, so here we are," said JCPD Chief Eric Daugherty. "We're going to move forward with purpose. We're going to hold ourselves to high standards, and we're going to be accountable - accountable to each other. Every call, every contact, every decision we make reflects who we are as a police department."
Daugherty has been at the department for three decades and officially took on the top role in the first week of November.
"The number one job here is customer service. That's what we provide, and we want to serve the community the best way
