Baltimore firefighters have contained a four-alarm warehouse fire that broke out Friday afternoon in Remington, but expect to work long into the night to extinguish it, city officials said.
Baltimore City Fire Department spokesperson John Marsh said the fire is in a commercial building on 23rd Street and Hampden Avenue, and department personnel are on the scene, along with members of the Baltimore Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management.
Fire officials said they evacuated 23 people from the 400 block of West 23rd Street, a string of rowhomes leading up to the engulfed warehouse. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
