Tate was installed as Rutgers University’s 22 nd president during the ceremony, held at Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall on the Rutgers-Newark campus. He succeeds former President Jonathan Holloway, who stepped down on June 30 after five years in the role.
Tate announced The Edge Fund for scholarships to support "the next generation of thinkers and creators who achieve innovations in the arts, sports, science and technology.," the university said.
