Six Boone County high school football teams are still competing for a state championship. All six will take the field this evening.
Hickman (7-2) is one of two teams that received a bye week. The third-seeded Kewpies will travel to No. 1-seeded Helias (9-0) in the Class 6, District 6 semifinals. Hickman lost to Helias in Week 2, 42-7, in Columbia, but that came before a six-game winning streak. Harrisburg (4-5) was the second Boone County program to not play in the quarterfinal round. The third-seeded Bulldogs are traveling to Marceline (5-4) with aspirations of claiming a spot in the Class 1, District 7 title game.
