MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - As first responders continue to work the scene of the UPS plane crash , they don’t know what type of leftover materials could be on the ground.
Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor says when Kentucky Emergency Management needed more resources, the county stepped in.
“Folks around the state know what others may have and may not have and so it’s a really good partnership to be there for another community in times of need,” Taylor says.
Because of their Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program, Madison County had extra hazmat gear, including decontamination suits.
On Thursday, firefighters and officials helped prepare and load that gear to transport to Louisville.
