TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. — Supervisor James Quigley’s retirement announcement has not resolved the turmoil on the Town Board.

Quigley announced his resignation on Thursday, Nov. 6, two days after winning an uncontested election. His resignation is effective Jan. 1. He also designated Councilman Clayton Van Kleeck as deputy town supervisor and turned over all authority to access computer information.

“I requested to be locked out to avoid all charges of impropriety in the interim time period between now and January 1,” Quigley said.

Quigley declined to cite specifics about his resignation, but said the issues that led to it have been on display during public meetings.
