**TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 1OPM FOR PARTS OF NORTH ALABAMA **
A round of storms is expected ahead of a weak cold front this evening. Some storms could be strong to severe, but widespread severe weather isn't expected. A stronger cold front arrives over the weekend. It may not bring much rain, but it will usher in the coldest air of the fall season so far with our first freeze and maybe a few snow flurries at the start of next week.
A line of storms is expected to push through after dark this evening. The main timeframe for north Alabama is between 7pm and midnight. A couple of storms may bring the risk of damaging wind, hail and maybe a brief tornado. We will dry out later tonight with temperatures dropping into the upper 50s.
