MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Shelby County jury has found a man guilty of shooting the mother of his children to death in broad daylight back in 2023.
Leondre Clark, 33, is now convicted of first-degree murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun for the shooting death of Toniquia Clark.
His conviction was handed down Friday after a five-day trial.
Authorities say Toniquia’s murder happened outside a home on Carnes Avenue in Memphis on June 29, 2023. She was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body and pronounced dead at the scene.
Memphis police arrested Leondre the next day. He will be sentenced on December 16.
He was previously convicted of aggravated battery in Osceola County, Florida, where he was sentenced to six months and 20 days in prison in 2012.
