WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WFSB) - Thousands of flights have been cancelled at 40 major airports across the country as the government shutdown forces airlines to reduce operations.
The Federal Aviation Administration is ordering airlines to cut flights during the shutdown. Air traffic controllers continue calling out sick as they work without pay, creating strain on the aviation system.
Bradley International Airport is not among the 40 airports directly impacted, but Connecticut travelers flying to major hubs are concerned about their return trips.
