(KRON) — A South Lake Tahoe bear was seen hitting a local ice rink ahead of the first open skate of the season.

Dreu Murin, the spokesperson for the Shops at Heavenly Village, told KRON4 News that a resident black bear named “Charlie” was seen trudging across the Heavenly Village ice rink shortly after the ice hardened this week.

“We just opened the ice rink today,” Murin said. “He was the first one who took to the ice this year.”
