NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A paved portion of the Riverside Village area of East Nashville will soon be removed.
Shovels are going in the ground starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, as a Nashville group works to bring more green space to the city.
Crews will begin depaving the area right outside Dose Cafe in Riverside Village out east. It's one of the Cumberland River Compact's many projects this year to get asphalt out and green in.
They're also inviting the community to witness and even be a part of the action. Depending on when you arrive Saturday, you may be able to see the asphalt cutting, removal, soil spreading, and tree planting.
CRC said they hope this becomes a space people can enjoy while helping to decrease flooding and urban heat in the Riverside Village neighborhood.
