SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - Food banks in KELOLAND say they're seeing more first-time users as the Government shutdown drags on. Organizations are ramping up as they see the need rising. But as they help more people, organizations like the Faith Temple Food Giveaway are seeking monetary donations.

It's all hands on deck at the Nordstrom building at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds. Volunteers are preparing for the Friday afternoon giveaway.

"We get anywhere from I'm not sure 11 to 13 hundred cars and boxes of food that we give out," said Rose McGaha.

Rose has been volunteering for 17 years. The volunteers are preparing for what is now the largest one day food giveaway in the state. They organize and box the food for anyone who needs it, no questions asked, no paperwork required. Faith Temple
